In the past, we have occasionally seen a lot of food-based slots here and there, and we have occasionally seen some based on different types of sweets and candy. Chocolate Slots is a video slot produced by Arrow's Edge that encompasses the latter of these motifs, and you'll see several different uses of chocolate in the game. While this company hasn't been known for producing all that many games with top-tier graphics, we are impressed with the amount of detail that went into the visuals of this game. It may not have fancy, 3D graphics like some of the games from their competitors, but it's definitely better than their reputation would have you think.
Layout and Format
The focus of the gameplay for this title is a high hit-rate with a moderate volatility. Because of this, the 243-ways format is used with five reels and three horizontal rows of symbols. This makes it really easy to hit a lot of wins by giving you the equivalent of having all regular paying symbols be left-to-right scatters. You'll wager with 25 coins per spin total, though you won't choose the individual coin sizes. Instead, you'll pick a total bet size that runs from $0.25 to $250 per spin, which covers bet sizes that will make players comfortable at all levels of stakes.
Free Spins Bonus Feature
The setup for the free spins bonus feature in this game is really simple. You'll see a free spins symbol occasionally come up on every one of the reels. If you get three or more anywhere on the reels at the same time (they don't have to be left-to-right), then you will earn a set of 10 free turns.
When you play during these free spins, you'll have an extra feature activated. When you get the molten chocolate cake symbol on the fifth reel, it'll give you a set of three re-spins while turning all of the wild symbols on the board into sticky wilds during all of those. The Walking Wild Feature

The way this works is that it will move from right-to-left, one spot at a time, across the entire board. As it does this, you'll get a free re-spin each time, and this will continue as long as you have a minimum of one wild symbol somewhere on the reels. This is a cool way to add some extra value to the game, and you'll see bites taken out of the chocolate bar as it moves across the rows of symbols.
Important Payouts
The two biggest individual payouts available in the game are the result of the two progressive jackpots. You can win them at random in this game. Aside from that, you can also pick up a very solid 1,000x win thanks to give of the wild symbols. Keep in mind that with the re-spin feature, you'll actually pick up a lot more than that if you earn the five of a kind win with this symbol.
Five of the chocolate ice cream sundae symbol is good for a 250x win. Five of the piece of chocolate cake will pay out 200x, and five of the M&M-style candies is worth a solid 150x prize. These three symbols make up the mid-tier wins.
At the lower tier, you have six different cookies that are shaped like certain card rank symbols. A lot of detail was put into these cookies, and they're probably the most stylized card rank symbols we've ever seen in a slot, which is a big compliment for Arrow's Edge. Five of the A or K will earn you a 70x win, and five of the Q or J pays out 40x. Five of the 10 or 9, both of which have different types of candy stripes, will pick up 30x for you.
Our Thoughts
Arrow's Edge seems to have put more of an effort into the graphics in this game than they have in many of their older titles, and that could be a sign for the future. The gameplay for Chocolate Slots is based around a lot of re-spins, even during the free spin bonus feature, and that helps to add a lot of extra wins without having to spend extra. The attention to detail in the visuals combined with the low-volatility, high hit-rate gameplay is a winning combination in the case of this slot. Overall, it's a game that we recommend, even if you may have played other Arrow's Edge titles in the past and weren't too thrilled.
