20,000 Leagues is a video slot that's based around the classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. As you might expect, even if you've never read the book or seen movies based on it, this game has a deep sea theme with lots of treasure and other related symbols. On the third reel, you'll see the 20,000 Leagues symbol, which is also a wild. There are two different wilds because of how the bonus feature is triggered, but there are no special winning combinations for lining up wild symbols.

Free Spins Bonus Feature

The way you trigger the feature in this game is a little atypical. First, you have to get the 20,000 Leagues symbol to show up on the middle reel. At the same time, there has to be at least one of the submarines on the reel, which are the other wild. If you do this, then you get 10 free spins for each submarine located on the reels, so you can earn as many as 40 free turns at a time. You can re-trigger this feature too, which adds even more value, and you will also get a 2x multiplier on all of your wins during the free spins.

The Captain Symbol

The Captain symbol is extremely important in the 20,000 Leagues slot for a couple of reasons. First, it's the highest-paying symbol in the game. As a matter of fact, you can earn a 5,000x jackpot for five of a kind during the normal game mode or 10,000x for five during the free spins. Four gets you 1,000x in the regular game as well.

Players will find a total of six symbols that are card ranks on the reels, and they are pretty plain. Five of the blue A or red K give you a solid payout of 500x. You can earn 200x for five of the purple Q or cyan J as well. The win for five of the yellow 10 or green 9 is 150x. There's definitely not a significant drop anywhere for the five of a kind wins on any of the symbols, but the card rank symbols are the only symbols in the game that require at least three of a kind for a payout.

The thing to understand about 20,000 Leagues by Wager Gaming Technology is that it's a fairly dated game that uses an older style of graphics. This means that you can't really judge it by a more modern graphical standard. Instead, you have to go more off of the gameplay, which isn't exactly stellar.
