Prepare for a fast-paced and action-packed reel fight as the developer has given it three random features – Rumble Spin with up to four modifiers, Sticky Respins and Wilds Stacks – these features will keep you in a state of suspense at all times and can reward you win of up 2,389 your bet!

Theme

Visually, Relax Gaming’s Let’s Get Ready to Rumble video slot has more in common with arcade-style boxing games than the more realistic and grown-up PEGI 18+ variants. In fact, there’s no sign of violence whatsoever!

No punches being thrown, no brain-damaged boxer slurring the name of his inamorata, heck – not even a single drop of blood. Not that we’re a bunch of brutes craving guts and gore, it’s just that it looks too harmless.

As expected....

....a boxing ring with the cheering crowd is in the background which together with shifting spotlights creates an authentic atmosphere. Michael, the referee and the boxers dominate the reels. The crowd noises are the main audio with Michael occasionally throwing in his catchphrase or commentary.

Betting Options

Wrap your hands and put on your boxing gloves, it’s time to get in the ring and face the random number generator in this six by four, 466 ways to win slot. You can enter the boxing ring on desktop or mobile from 0.10 to 100 credits per spin. The game has high volatility with an RTP of 96.14%.

Important to realize...

…the game engine comes with a connected ways mechanic. A connected way is formed by matching symbols appear on adjacent reels starting from the left, and one row above, one row below, or in the same row as the leftmost symbol. This leads to a maximum of 466 ways in the base game and 1,436 ways in the Rumble Spin feature.

And what characters do you expect to see on the reels?

The pay symbols start at the low end with Bandages that boxers use before putting on the gloves. They appear in Blue, Yellow and Red colors awarding 0.5x your bet when six land on a line.

On the medium level…

... you will find Microphones, Ring Bells, Boxing Gloves, and a Champion’s Belt. Hitting six across the reels will pay 0.8 times your stake.

The premium symbols…

... are the Referee, the Boxer with Blue Gloves, his Opponent with Red Gloves and Michael Buffer himself. Six on a line will get you 1.4x to 4x your bet.

A Hanging Boxing Bag in golden colors is the Wild symbol, substituting for all pay symbols. There are no scatter or bonus symbols on the slot.

Special Features

Relax Gaming focused on fast-paced gameplay with adrenaline-inducing moments when any of the three random features trigger. Once they do, it is time to get ready to rumble as they have the potential to lead to wins of up to 2,389x your bet.

What’s better…

... one of them is coming with additional enhancers to provide more chances to score a big win.

The Rumble Spin can trigger randomly at the start of any game round and can activate multiple add-on features while the reels are spinning. The win evaluation is done after the reels come to a stop.

  • Cross Wilds: Adds three to five random wilds to the reels, can trigger up to eight times.
  • Uppercut Wild: A full wild stack is placed on reel six, can trigger up to three times.
  • Wild Hook: Moves the Wild stack from reel six to reel two or three. If the reel area has increased, then it will also expand the stack to cover the increased reel. Can trigger up to two times.
  • Title Fight: Adds once two rows at the top and two at the bottom for 1,436 connecting ways.

Wait, there is more!

Multiple enhancers can trigger on a single Rumple Spin.

For example…

... you could have an Uppercut Wild followed by a Wild Hook and by another Uppercut Wild, creating to fully stacked wild reels. The most desired option is to have the Title Fight trigger first as all enhancers would apply then to the maximum reel size.

And of course...

… the second random feature is the Wild Stacks. The game will randomly place two to five full stacked wilds anywhere between reel two and six. However, wilds cannot be added to reel one.

Last but not least…

... the Sticky Spin can randomly trigger on a 1-symbol win where the winning amount is less than the bet size.

The triggering symbols are locked in place and the reels blanked out before they respin. Any further winning symbol landing will turn sticky too and another respin is awarded until no new winning symbols land or the entire screen is filled with sticky symbols. The maximum win in this feature comes in at 1,864x bet for a full screen of Michael Buffer symbols.

Our Take

As we have seen in the past, branded slots can be a hit and miss affair.

Where does Let’s Get Ready to Rumble stand?

Well…

...it certainly won’t go down in history as the best-branded slot, that we can tell you for sure.

Why, you might ask.

First; the layout feels horribly dated. With 6 reels and 4 rows, 4,096 win-all-ways should be the norm, otherwise, just stick to the usual 5x3 standard. On the superficial side of things…

...the visual presentation feels equally dated, and to build a whole game around an announcer, regardless of how famous, seems a bit pointless as there’s little to work with.

On the positive side...

You can win up to 1,864x your stake in the base game, and 2,389x in the Rumble Spins feature.
